About Us

The CGA Charitable Foundation

The remarkable generosity of CGA members became apparent back in 2001, following the outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease which left many farmers and country folk in distress. Within two weeks of making an appeal to help them our caring members had donated more than £45,000 for the cause.

As a result the CGA decided to set up a permanent Charitable Foundation with the aim of making modest but specific financial grants to carefully selected worthwhile causes throughout the country which have been put forward by our members.

We have, for example, given £500 worth of angling equipment to a fishing project for disadvantaged children, and a similar sum for the ongoing maintenance of an historic World War II torpedo boat.

More recently we have given £1,500 to a project in Wiltshire where a new cricket ground is being created for the benefit of the surrounding community. In fact, should you wish to personally support this outstanding project, you can enter a competition to win a private aerobatic display by a Spitfire - at a time and place of your choosing. Tickets are just £10 and it couldn't be easier to take part. Simply visit the Spitfire Display website and you could soon be hosting a spectacular airshow in your garden! The proceeds from rthe tiocket sales go to two superb causes.
