The CGA has an enviable reputation for laying on an array of exclusive events for its members. These range from private tours of country houses, entertaining race days, lunch events at cricket matches, weekend breaks in and around the British Isles, private wine tastings, hospitality at country occasions through to the increasingly popular CGA golf days.

The CGA first offered private tours of countless great houses before many of them opened their doors to the public. The exclusive nature of these trips continues and visits to most venues are usually followed by lunch, sometimes with the owners.

The CGA is closely associated with racing and race sponsorship. In recent years membership events have been hosted at Goodwood, York, Perth, Windsor, Salisbury, and most significantly Wincanton, where the CGA Annual Steeple Chase, a recognised Cheltenham Gold Cup Trial, is run.
